Your Opportunity
We have an exciting Help Desk Administrator opportunity in our office. In this impactful role, you will provide support to the user community and the servers, services, and applications they use by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving issues with hardware, software, and computers in general. The Help Desk Administrator reports to the IT Manager and works closely with IT staff, management, and end users.

Responsibilities
- Respond to requests for technical assistance and provide onsite and remote account administrative support to user populations across a business operation.
- Resolve and/or delegate help desk requests received via ticketing system, email, walk-up or phone.
- Prioritize duties and requests based on business needs and impact through collaboration with other help desk team members.
- Maintain asset management system and control device/accessory inventory Maintain basic business devices, mobile phones, tablets, copiers, printers, fax, etc.
- Manage onboarding/offboarding process including devices.
- Support audio and video equipment in conference rooms and elsewhere.
- Work with purchased application users and vendors for support and problem resolution.
- Respond to emergency-level occurrences timely, including during nights and weekends.
- Up to 15% travel to any other business locations as needed.
- This is an onsite in Ames, IA.
- Other duties may be added and/or assigned as needed.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred
- 4 years in an IT support and troubleshooting role
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft Server, Windows 10/11 products and ability to learn new versions as released
- Client PC connectivity - ethernet, TCP/IP, VPN, and Wi-Fi
- Basic network device (Switch, routers, APs) troubleshooting knowledge
- Smart device support
- Antivirus/spam filter software support
- Microsoft Office 365 application support
- Strong Active Directory understanding and ability to apply this knowledge in a multi-domain and multi-forest environment
- Network experience including WINS, DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP
- SharePoint/Teams understanding and experience
- Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently
Schedule
This is a 1st shift position, Mon-Fri.
