We have an exciting Safety Intern opportunity in our Guymon, OK office. As a Safety Intern you will gain knowledge and training with a 10 to 12 Week training program with Seaboard Foods' Safety team. Part of the Safety Intern program will be learning to monitor, implement, and provide oversight for the organization’s safety programs.

Responsibilities
- Evaluates safety programs, policies, procedures, facilities, and equipment to identify potential risks and implement safeguards and solutions
- Conducts routine internal audits to ensure all employees are knowledgeable and aware of all safety requirements and follow established policies and procedures
- Learning/Supporting EHS Management System (KPA)
- Leading Projects as assigned
- Conducts incident investigations to determine root cause and coordinates with management to put corrective actions in place to prevent future incidents
- Communicates and collaborates regularly with all levels of employees on a preemptive time frame to help drive the importance of safety and protection of employees
- Develops, maintains, and modifies safety procedures including job safety analysis for all positions within the organization
- Assists with development of safety training programs and in some instances conducts safety meetings with departments
- Assists Operations Safety Manager and other safety representatives to ensure all EH&S programs meet compliance with corporate and government guidelines, such as OSHA and EPA
Required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Pursuing a degree in a safety, environmental, or related field of study
- Must be detailed-oriented, self-driven, action oriented, and have ability to prioritize multiple tasks proactively and effectively
- Ability to effectively communicate with contributors at all levels within an organization
- Available for 10 to 12 weeks of your summer

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility
- The employee will occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to climb ladders and platforms and enter confined spaces
- Work in cold and warm temperature environment
- Able to wear applicable personal protective equipment as needed
- Work environment includes a manufacturing environment and normal office environment as well as climate extremes found in the production operations
- The noise level in the work environment is dependent on which environment you are in.
- The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested. Must be able to work a flexible schedule as necessary
