What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Guard (B shift) position at Seaboard Foods?
Job Purpose:
The position of security guard is responsible for providing a safe and secure work environment for all Seaboard Foods plant employees and Company property. Ensures all employees/guests entering the facility have proper authority to enter the facility. Secures and monitors the entire facility during and after business hours in accordance with corporate and security guidelines policies and procedures. Performs all duties assigned by the Security Supervisor or any member of management The position must have a full understanding, ability to practice, and ensure that company policies and procedures and state or federal laws are always followed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide prompt and courteous services; maintain a professional appearance and a neat work environment.
- Advise the Safety Supervisor and/or senior management of all serious complaints or incidences.
- Inspect the fence line (if applicable) for indications of unauthorized entry or potential security risks.
- Ensure the plant facility and grounds are secured at established times. Note any security, safety or fire hazards.
- Secure gates at established times and patrol property.
- Ensure proper follow-through on all directives and bulletins. Maintain a good flow of communication with other plant management.
- Monitor and control all facility conditions, vehicles, property, and equipment within plant Ens
- Ensures area conditions do not threaten employee or customer safety. Respond to and follow proper procedures on employee and customer accidents, injuries and loss or damage to any property. Report all incidents to the Safety Manager immediately. Practice proper loss prevention and reaction procedures. Report all incidents properly and immediately.
- Account for and identify all keys, codes or other safety or security information.
- Responsible for all administrative duties required of the position.
REQUIREMENTS
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in either safety or security
- Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety files, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Bilingual skills preferred.
