The Orientation Trainer is responsible for supporting a variety of training and development needs which include the online development and delivery of primarily hourly training curriculums. The Orientation Trainer will rely on excellent writing and verbal communication, tracking, computer, and client support skills as well as prior experience developing and delivering training content. The incumbent must be capable of working proactively and demonstrate initiative.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list is not intended to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned:

  • Deliver and facilitate orientation training.
  • Assist in the maintenance of an enterprise course catalog.
  • Track and maintain training records of employees.
  • Contribute to the training scorecard to communicate the volume and effectiveness of training.
  • Participate in implementation of an enterprise Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Display excellent facilitation skills.
  • Display excellent team and collaboration skills.
  • Work collaboratively with employees, management, and cross-functionally.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and demonstrate professionalism while maintaining composure in stressful situations.
  • Communicate and present ideas.
  • Must be able to don proper PPE and visit Production areas weekly for follow-up's with new hires.
  • Must be detail-oriented with a strong work ethic focused on providing a positive customer experience.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Background in Organization Development, Human Resources, Communications, Training and Development or related area of study is a benefit. Two to three years' professional training and development experience in a combined corporate and industrial environment or 3-5 years of experience in meat processing in lieu of training experience. Experience working in a Company with 2,000 or more employees desired; experience with adult learning concepts; experience developing written and digital training.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations. Ability to write effective reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and employees. Must have the ability to influence and persuade others.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as applications, training materials and procedure manuals. Must be able to effectively communicate with candidates, hiring managers and others within and outside of the organization. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical applications to practical situations. Must possess strong analytical and metric-based skills.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical, diagram, written and/or verbal form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong personal computer skills and expertise with software application and templates supporting training. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and standard office applications. (PowerPoint, Captivate, Word, Excel etc.) Skilled in MS Office Suite, Outlook, Microsoft Exchange. Must hold a valid driver's license due to periodic business travel.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move about the facility. The employee is required to sit; use hands to finger; handle; or feel/hold objects; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; speak, hear, taste, and smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vison, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Individual must be able to effectively work in a normal production environment where temperatures and noise levels may vary. Generally the incumbent must be able to sit/stand and use a computer for extended periods of time.
