Place of Performance-FCI Ashland St. Route 716 Ashland, KY 41105 Services will be performed in the Health Services Department.
Schedule-The contractor will normally work Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), between the hours of 6 : 30am and 3 : 00pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch period. The actual hours of work will be determined by the Health Services Administrator.
Education and Experience-All contractors must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. The Registered Dental Hygienist must have evidence of licensure and experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist. The Dental Hygienist must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience providing Dental Hygienist services.
Description of Duties-Dental Hygienist
The Contractor will generally work under the supervision of the staff Dentist; however, may be required to work under the supervision of the Clinical Director or a BOP mid-level practitioner. The Contractor will be responsible for personal health care needs and costs associated with exposure, or possible exposure to any blood borne pathogen or other risk encountered during performance of this contract. The contractor shall provide the following Dental Hygienist services, which include, but are not limited to, the items listed below.
- Provide dental prophylaxis on AIC(s) who are referred by the dental staff.
- Provide thorough individualized oral hygiene instructions to each patient.
- Monitor oral hygiene and periodontal condition on each patient seen for dental prophylaxis.
- Complete necessary dental x-rays as specified by the dentist.
- Sterilize instruments used for prophylaxis and other instruments as specified by the dental staff.
- Perform necessary paperwork related to scheduling patients for dental prophylaxis as directed by the dental staff.
