Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Dining Room Supervisor at a country club plays a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of the dining area. Their responsibilities typically include:
Staff Management and Training:
- Supervise, schedule, and manage waitstaff, bussers, bar staff and hosts.
- Train staff on service standards, country club policies, and proper dining etiquette.
- Ensure team members provide excellent customer service.
- Customer Service:
- Ensure a high level of member and guest satisfaction.
- Handle member/guest complaints and resolve issues promptly.
- Oversee special requests, dietary restrictions, and ensure personalized service.
- Coordination with Kitchen Staff:
- Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely food service.
- Communicate any special orders or dietary needs.
- Oversee the flow of service to ensure efficient delivery.
- Dining Room Setup and Cleanliness:
- Ensure tables are set up properly for service, including table linens, cutlery, glassware, and décor.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining room.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Event and Banquet Management:
- Assist in planning and executing dining events, private parties, and banquets.
- Understanding of event planning and execution, particularly in coordinating the dining aspects for banquets, weddings and private parties. Serve as the day of event point of contact for the event coordinator/company.
- Inventory and Supplies Management:
- Monitor and manage dining room supplies, such as napkins, cutlery, and menus.
- Financial Oversight:
- May assist Director of Food & Beverage in managing dining room budgets and controlling costs.
- Track and report sales or daily operations as required.
- Team Leadership:
- Foster a positive work environment to encourage teamwork and collaboration.
- Set clear expectations and provide feedback to staff members.
- All other duties as assigned based on business demands.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within the food and beverage industry, preferably in a country club or upscale dining environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service standards, guest satisfaction metrics and complain resolution techniques.
- Familiarity with reservation systems and event management.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations in food service.
- Certification in food safety and sanitation.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems, Microsoft Office suite.
- Background in customer service and hospitality.
- Familiarity with marketing strategies in food and beverage settings.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong knowledge of hospitality and customer service principles, focusing on delivering high-end experiences for members and guests.
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Language Skills:
The individual must have strong written and verbal communication skills in order to communicate effectively with employees and clients at all levels of the organization.
Availability:
Regular business hours, holidays, after regular business hours, as necessary.
