What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Attorney position at Seabrook Family Law, Inc.?
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Managing Attorney, the Associate Attorney must have the ability to work
effectively as a team member while also handling an individual caseload. The Associate Attorney must
have strong commitment to achieving excellent results for our clients through intelligent and aggressive
advocacy. The Associate Attorney must also zealously advocate for clients within the bounds of the Rules
of Professional Conduct. A positive attitude and ability to work well with a variety of people is also a must.
The Associate Attorney must be able to demonstrate leadership skills and possess excellent oral advocacy
skills, thorough writing ability, and demonstrate effective negotiation tactics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Independently manages caseload from strategy session to close of case;
Regularly communicates with clients and opposing counsel/parties via phone and email as needed
to effectively move cases forward;
Meets billable hour requirements and document contemporaneously in CLIO;
Complies with and executes the outlined Case Review protocols;
Documents phone calls to clients and opposing counsel/parties with an email confirmation
regarding the contents of that call;
Responses to all client communication properly, no later than 48 business hours after receipt.
Complies with Court Prep Email protocol;
Ensures every Court Order and Stipulation to the Case Coordinator;
Ensures that testifying case parties and experts receive live witness prep prior to hearing dates;
Complies with Strategy Session Memo protocol;
Use Dialpad to make and receive phone calls;
Complies with Red Rubber Band Policy;
Effectively supervises Paralegals work and reads and approves 100% of documents to be filed
prior to filing;
Immediately report to the owner any threats of BAR complaints or malpractice concerns.
Keeps Continuing Legal Education up to date with proof submitted to the firm prior to renewal
due date;
Meets with Junior Associates as needed to help review strategy for their cases, documents and
pleadings;
Works with non-production team member with a high degree of professionalism and courtesy;
Remains in good standing with the CA BAR Association.
