Description:
SCA Position 30084 – The Engineering Technician IV performs assignments that are not fully standardized or prescribed, selecting or adapting standard procedures or equipment using fully applicable precedents. While receiving initial instructions, equipment requirements, and guidance from a supervisor or engineer as needed, the technician works independently on recurring tasks. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy and conformity with instructions. Typical duties performed at this level include, but are not limited to:
- Constructing components, subunits, or simple models, or adapting standard equipment; troubleshooting and correcting malfunctions as needed.
- Following specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices or subunits of equipment.
- Conducting various tests or experiments that may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures. This includes subjective judgments in measurement, as well as the selection, preparation, and operation of standard test equipment, with responsibility for recording test data.
- Extracting and compiling a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, and lab reports; processing the data, identifying errors or inconsistencies, and selecting appropriate methods for data presentation.
- Assisting in design modifications by compiling data related to design specifications and materials pertinent to specific equipment or component parts. This may involve developing information about previous operational failures and modifications, using judgment to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data, and seeking clarification from relevant sources.

Security Clearance Required: TS SCI (position retention is contingent upon the ability to obtain and maintain the required clearance)
Experience & Education:
- Associate degree in a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Training Required:
- None beyond those required by skill set or certifications.
Skills & Certifications:
- Working knowledge and expertise in the fields of E3 EMC, EMI, TEMPEST, Telecommunication Emissions Security, C4I, and antenna pattern testing, including test design.
- Required experience with the CREW-2 Countermeasures Set, AN/VLQ-12(V)3.
- Working knowledge of C4I stimulation/simulation support, including STRYKER Lower and Upper Tactical Internet (LTI/UTI) Master Control Station configuration, operation, and maintenance support for test events requiring stimulation/simulation.
- Knowledge of proper data collection, reduction, and archiving practices.
- Familiarity with COMSEC and logistical support for SUT (System Under Test), SUT components, and SUT vehicle maintenance support.
