What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Records Coordinator position at Seabury?
The Medical Records Coordinator is responsible for filing and maintaining Medical Records and Health Information for both long and short term residents in accordance with all Federal, State guidelines as well as with established policies and procedures. Respond, organize and provide requests for medical records from insurance companies, families or other parties. This is a full-time position, working 40 hrs/wk Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm.
Position Requirements:
- High School graduate; Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Two years or more medical office experience
- Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records
Skills:
- Ability to read, speak and understand the English language clearly.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills in person and via telephone.
- Must be well organized.
- Ability to make decisions with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Must be proficient in maintaining files and operating office equipment.
- Ability to maintain good rapport with staff, families, physicians and residents.
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure.
- Ability to relate to elderly in a dignified manner.
- Microsoft Office suite knowledge
- Matrix Care familiarity preferred
