We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Visual Inspector to join our manufacturing foundry team, specializing in aerospace parts. The ideal candidate will conduct detailed visual examinations of components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company-specific procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visual Examination: Conduct detailed visual inspections of components using the naked eye or optical aids (e.g., magnifying glasses, borescopes, cameras) to identify surface defects such as cracks, corrosion, or other discontinuities.
- Documentation: Accurately record findings and compile comprehensive reports detailing inspection results, identified defects, and recommendations for corrective action.
- Compliance: Ensure inspections meet industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ASME, ISO) and adhere to company-specific procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, quality control teams, and maintenance staff to assess findings and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Training and Certification: Maintain certification in NDT methods, specifically visual testing (VT), through accredited organizations such as the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT).
- Equipment Operation: Operate relevant NDT equipment to assist visual inspections, while primarily focusing on visual assessment.
- Safety Considerations: Adhere to safety protocols while working in potentially hazardous environments.
