Description
The CAD Designer is responsible for supporting our CAD Design Department by learning out software, our equipment and understanding our capabilities. The CAD Designer will create primary cartons for the consumer goods industry which will be produced on our manufacturing equipment. The perfect candidate will have experience with CAD systems and Adobe Creative Suite and come up with innovative ideas for structural and graphic designs. They will learn and understand our equipment and processes so they are able to increase efficiency and reduce waste to that we are producing in the most cost-effective manner.
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of production techniques, equipment capabilities and characteristics of production materials to communicate intelligently with internal customers about capabilities and plans to meet customer expectations.
- Complete a variety of tasks such as completing sample runs, creating die-lines, mock-ups, proofs, and technical material specification sheets for productions and die tracking.
- Meeting with internal sales team to understand their needs and expectations.
- Creating 2D and 3D design plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as CimPACK, and Adobe Illistrator.
- Reviewing and revising designs based on feedback and specifications.
- Keeping up to date with the latest trends and technologies in the design field.
- Spend time on the production floor with gluer, folder, and die-cutter operators to obtain a working knowledge of our equipment capabilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- A degree or certificate in CAD Design, Packaging, or related field.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Packaging Designer or Graphic Designer in a printing or marketing company.
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as CimPACK or Adobe Illustrator.
- A keen eye for detail, aesthetics, and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for design and creativity.

Salary
- $59,000 - $75,000 per year.
