Dean of Students
Seacoast Charter School is seeking a Dean of Students. The Dean of Students will advance our progressive mission by collaborating with the Head of School and the SCS staff to effectively cultivate a positive and productive learning culture for the whole community. This position reports to the Head of School.

Responsibilities:
Student Services:
Cultivate strong relationships with students to encourage positive behaviors
Serve as classroom teacher’s next point of contact for assistance with student dysregulation
Provide assistance and guidance with student behavior and support classroom teachers by:
supporting teachers with major classroom disruptions
leading the development and implementation of positive, targeted supports in response to ongoing behavioral challenges
intervening in discipline issues and assist with conflict resolution following SCS’s Conflict Resolution Procedure
Collaborate with the special education team, staff and students
Attend IEP meetings when necessary
Lead the development and implementation of appropriate programming and interventions to increase appropriate student behavior
Partner successfully with families and staff to support student success
Lead the Student Support Team
Maintain student discipline records and documentation
Staff Support:
Train, coach and support staff working with students with challenging behaviors
Assist teachers in developing behavior management plans
Provide home/school behavior intervention support models
Consult with teachers and IEP teams, as requested
Supervise and support Teaching Assistants
Requirements:
Experience working with both elementary and middle school students
Knowledge and understanding of progressive education and pedagogical practices
Knowledge of and experience with best practices in conflict resolution and supporting students in positive interactions
Preferred Qualifications:
MA in Education, Special Education, Educational Administration or a related field
Knowledge of laws pertaining to student behavior and rights
Minimum of 2 years working with students with behavioral challenges
Experience in supervision
Terms of Employment:
Starting salary range: $52,500 - $63,400.
Contracted for 200 days per year.
Other terms to be determined by the Seacoast Charter School Board of Trustees and documented in an individual contract.
