What are the responsibilities and job description for the Central Music Development Leader position at Seacoast Church?
Hours per week: Full time, 40 hours
This position reports to: Mt. Pleasant Campus Worship Pastor
Location: Central/Mt. Pleasant
The mission: Seacoast Church goes all out in our mission to help others “Find God, Grow their Faith, Discover their Purpose, and Make a Difference.” The Central Music Development Leader provides passionate leadership to our weekend experiences, special events, and development programs in an effort to support Seacoast Worship and Seacoast Music campus wide.
Key Responsibilities:
Mt Pleasant Worship Responsibilities
- Work with Mt Pleasant Worship Pastor to carry out the vision of Seacoast Worship, creating music and experiences that reveal the heart of God and lead others into His presence
- Available for weekends in the Worship Center and other Mt Pleasant venues, playing guitar and music directing
- Participation in all major events, holidays, conferences, all-staff, etc.
- Attend monthly All-Staff meetings, weekly worship staff meetings, regular check-ins with the Mt Pleasant Worship Pastor, and any other meetings related to the weekend experience or Seacoast Worship and Seacoast Music events
- Facilitate and communicate all music direction for worship events at Seacoast
- Attend workshops, and help train new MD’s
- Help Mt Pleasant Worship Pastor and Pastor of Seacoast Worship and Seacoast Music with all planning for holidays, conferences, and other large events
Central Worship Responsibilities
- Work with Central Worship Pastor and Pastor of Seacoast Worship and Seacoast Music, developing, implementing, and participating in strategies for development of MD’s campus-wide
- Build a relationship with Campus Worship Leaders and MD’s, mentoring them in best practices and technical skills
Seacoast Music Responsibilities
- Support Seacoast Music in arranging, producing, and recording when margin allows and necessity dictates
Job Essentials
- Christ Follower (As a religious organization Seacoast Church makes hiring decisions that are aligned to our faith and beliefs)
- At least 3 years of related Music Directing experience; exceptional guitar and band directing talent
- Demonstrates spiritual gift to serve others in a team environment
- Ability to lead, train, and develop musicians in all band positions
- A critical ear and ability to both give and receive constructive feedback
- Live and drive Seacoast cultural values to Love God. Love People. Make it Better. And Have a Good Attitude.
