Job Summary:
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the electronics design, debug, and support of products from concept to sustaining mass production. Projects are primarily customer-facing, and span a wide range of industries including consumer electronics, medical device, and Agtech.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schematic and PCB layout design of hardware systems and components, including embedded circuits, power circuits, and analog circuits.
- Debug and validate designs at PCBA, product, and system levels.
- Participate in design and documentation reviews.
- Ensure designs are compliant with industry, safety, and performance standards including regulatory standards such as UL, FCC, or CE.
- Collaborate to define and complete simulations or engineering analyses.
- Assess and mitigate technical risks with project teams.
- Perform testing and debugging to ensure hardware reliability and performance.
- Work closely with cross-functional engineering counterparts to solve system-level engineering challenges.
- Update and maintain engineering documentation such as specifications, high-level diagrams, bills of materials, schematics, layouts, and wiring diagrams based on best practices.
- Work closely with production factories and supplier teams on component lifecycles, DFM/DFA, first article approvals, and sustaining production.
- Actively participate in regular project status meetings with relevant external and internal stakeholders.
- Take ownership and accountability of engineering tasks from concept through mass production and sustaining.
- Interact with customers, sales, engineering, production, quality, sourcing, and any other departments as needed to meet project objectives.
- Travel to customer locations, suppliers, and production factories in service of project objectives.
- Embraces engineering best practices, yet remains innovative, in order to deliver high-quality designs with maximum efficiency.
- Collaborate well with local and international teams.
- Stay updated on emerging hardware technologies and industry trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- 3-7 years of hands-on electrical/hardware engineering design experience for high-volume manufacturing.
- Proficient in electrical engineering fundamentals as well as schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium.
- Understanding of PCBA manufacturing and test processes.
- Ability to create well-written engineering documentation.
- Proficient in hands-on testing, soldering, cable fabrication, and use of lab equipment.
- Competent in designs utilizing MCUs, sensors, batteries, displays, etc. that consist of signals such as I2C, SPI, RS-232, and other standard interfaces.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attitude, work ethic, and time management.
- Ability to speak Spanish and/or Mandarin are a plus, but not required.
Salary : $105,000 - $127,000
