Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Summary: SEACORP is seeking an experienced Accounting Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide specialized knowledge, guidance, and expertise in accounting principles, financial reporting, compliance, and best practices. The SME will support internal teams, develop training materials, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to process improvements. This role requires deep technical accounting knowledge and strong analytical skills to drive accuracy, efficiency, and strategic decision-making.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Provide expert guidance on accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance with GAAP, FAR and other relevant regulations.
- Support internal teams with complex accounting issues, policy interpretations, and best practices.
- Develop and review financial models, reports, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist Controller in process improvement initiatives to enhance financial operations and reporting efficiency.
- Design and deliver training materials and workshops on accounting standards and practices.
- Collaborate with auditors, regulatory agencies to ensure compliance.
- Serve as a key resource for accounting system implementations and upgrades.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or financial reporting.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Expertise in GAAP, FAR, and other accounting standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and provide strategic insights.
- Experience in government contractors accounting, consulting, or corporate finance.
- Familiarity with CostPoint reporting, tax regulations, and risk management.
- Strong project management skills and ability to lead initiatives.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
