SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Engineering Technician IV.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Summary : SEACORP is seeking an experienced Engineer Technician to support Imaging Testing efforts in Groton, CT. The successful candidate will provide technical evaluation and perform required corrective actions for Imaging in accordance with Applicable Systems Instructions, and DoD and Navy Maintenace Procedures. This position will assist in the disassembly, reassembly, installation and testing of Imaging components; as well as providing support to a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing and operation of Imaging in accordance with engineering specifications. The Engineering Technician will perform non routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity, using operational precedents which are not fully applicable. Such assignments, which are typically parts of broader assignments, are screened to eliminate unusual design problems. May also plan such assignments. This position requires some travel, up to two weeks.

Experience : 4 years of experience.

Travel: Infrequently (<3 annually)
Clearance: Secret
Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.

Job Responsibilities Include:
- Develops or reviews designs by extracting and analyzing a variety of engineering data.
- Applies conventional engineering practices to develop, prepare, or recommend schematics, designs, specifications, electrical drawings and diagrams.
- Hardware fittings or test equipment involving a variety of mechanisms; conventional piping systems.
- Building site layouts.
- Conducts tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of a wide variety of critical test equipment and test procedures and redesigns as necessary.
- Sets up and operates equipment; records data, measures and records problems of significant complexity that sometimes require resolution at a higher level.
- Applies methods outlined by others to limited segments of research and development projects.
- Constructs experimental or prototype models to meet engineering requirements.
- Records and evaluates data and reports findings.
- Assist with test and evaluation; perform validation/verification of the Imaging systems.
- Assist in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions.
- Assist in development of technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements.
- Support systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise.
- Direct on-site customer interface for equipment/systems installation, testing, survey, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed.
- Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, and system specifications and test procedures; review change proposals for equipment impacts.
- Provide support in the development of technical proposals and provide input on technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
Education: Technical School Diploma.
