The position is integral to ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout the new vessel construction process.
Key Responsibilities
- Support new vessel construction through detailed 3D modeling and technical drawing production
- Convert point cloud scan data into accurate as-built drawings for new vessel construction verification
- Create and modify ship construction drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and Rhino
- Develop comprehensive new vessel construction plans, including structural components, piping systems, and equipment layouts
- Perform clash detection in complex 3D models to prevent construction delays
- Work directly with naval architects and marine engineers on new vessel design implementation
- Maintain strict drawing standards required for new vessel certification
- Generate documentation for maritime regulatory compliance specific to new vessel construction
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of CAD drafting experience specifically in new vessel construction
- Demonstrated expertise working with point cloud scan data for new shipbuilding applications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Rhino software platforms
- Experience with point cloud processing software (such as Leica Cyclone, Faro SCENE, or similar)
- Strong understanding of new vessel construction sequences, shipbuilding terminology, and construction processes
- Ability to interpret naval architectural specifications for new vessel projects
- Knowledge of maritime regulatory requirements for new vessel construction
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work within precise tolerances required for new builds
Preferred Skills
- Experience with additional shipbuilding-specific software (e.g., ShipConstructor, Aveva Marine)
- Understanding of modern shipbuilding methods and production techniques
- Knowledge of construction tolerances specific to new vessel projects
