Main Function: The intern will receive training in chemical dependency principles and techniques through supervised direct and/or indirect treatment of those who are chemically dependent. This training will also fulfill the requirements set forth by their educational institution.

In this role, interns are trained in group and individual counseling by shadowing an assigned counselor and attending all group and individual supervision sessions as well as other staff meetings such as exchange meetings, in-service trainings, orientations, monthly staff meetings, and case conference meetings. Education and Qualifications:
To be eligible for this internship, candidates must be enrolled in an accredited program of social work, mental health counseling, psychology, or OASAS education program.

- Contacting referral sources
- Participating in case conferences for the development and review of treatment plans
- Attending weekly supervision
- Participating in staff meetings
- Performing other duties as assigned
