Job Summary
As a Heavy Equipment Lube Technician (Class B CDL required), you will be responsible for performing routine lubrication and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment longevity and optimal performance on a variety of heavy machinery and vehicles. This includes but is not limited to bulldozers, excavators, loaders, dump trucks, tractors, and cranes.
You will collaborate with a team to ensure that equipment is maintained in safe and optimal operating condition to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. Your commitment to exceeding client needs will ensure project success and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

What you do:
- Lubrication Services: Perform routine lubrication of heavy construction equipment, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, backhoes, cranes, and other machinery.
- Oil Changes: Conduct oil changes on engines, hydraulic systems, and other machinery components according to the manufacturer's specifications.
- Inspection: Inspect equipment for proper functioning and potential issues such as leaks, worn parts, or improper fluid levels.
- Fluid Maintenance: Check and maintain levels of oil, fuel, coolant, transmission fluid, hydraulic fluid, and other essential fluids.
- Documentation: Record all services performed, including type of maintenance, equipment details, and any issues found.
- Equipment Cleaning: Ensure equipment is cleaned, free of debris, and ready for use after maintenance.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines when working with machinery and chemicals.
- Coordination: Collaborate with equipment operators and mechanics to schedule service work during minimal use periods to avoid disrupting operations.
- Parts Replacement: Assist in minor part replacements like oil filters, air filters, and other routine maintenance items.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain an inventory of lubricants, oils, filters, and other supplies needed for maintenance.
- Experience: Prior experience as a lube technician or in a similar maintenance role in heavy construction is preferred. Familiarity with modern lubrication systems and maintenance software required.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of modern lubrication systems, techniques, types of oils, fluids, and equipment used in heavy construction.
- Physical Ability: Must be physically capable of performing duties, including lifting heavy objects, and working in varying weather conditions.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Basic knowledge of mechanics and construction equipment functionality. Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and schematics.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, mechanics, and operators regarding equipment status and maintenance needs.
- Safety Focus: Strong awareness and adherence to safety regulations, particularly when handling heavy equipment and hazardous materials.
- Licenses/Certifications: A valid driver’s license and relevant certifications in lubrication or maintenance are beneficial. Class B – CDL required.
