Position Summary
The Beach Set-Up Attendant will be responsible for greeting guests and hotel members in the pool area as well as serving food and beverage items in a friendly, enthusiastic, professional, and timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Most work tasks are performed outdoors.
- Must be able to work in extreme outdoor temperatures.
- Ability to describe all menu items, prices and methods of preparation, using suggestive selling techniques to encourage the guests to choose items that are house specialties.
- Ability to make standard bar beverages both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
- Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
- Must possess basic computer skills.
- Must possess basic computational ability.
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
- Must have the ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
- Must be able to exert a well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel and pool areas on a timely basis.
- Must be able to lift trays of food or food items weighting up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
- Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other locations of the hotel on a timely basis.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.

- Understand requests and correctly, creatively and expediently carry them out.
- Be outgoing, friendly and patient even after working long hours.
- Handle multiple requests with poise, accuracy and timeliness.

- Use good judgment at all times.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
Physical Requirements/Other
- Ability to work in extreme outdoor temperatures.
- Work long hours when necessary and be flexible with schedule.
- Be able to work weekends and nights and holidays as necessary.
- Stand and walk for extended hours. Lift, carry and push up to 50 pounds.
