Position Summary:
The In-Room Dining (IRD) Server at The Seagate is responsible for delivering exceptional service to guests in their rooms, ensuring a quality dining experience. This role involves receiving and delivering food, beverage, and amenity orders promptly and professionally while maintaining high standards of hospitality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous service to all guests, managers, and fellow employees.
- Understand the organization of all restaurant outlets and service areas, including Poolside Service.
- Familiarize oneself with menus, daily specials, and operational procedures of applicable outlets.
- Service guests according to food and beverage service standards.
- Maintain an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner throughout all interactions.
- Utilize the InfoGenesis POS System for order processing and payment transactions.
- Perform cashiering functions, including closing checks and completing end-of-shift paperwork.
- Follow opening and closing procedures and complete assigned side-work duties as per established checklists.
- Answer telephone calls in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Consistently upsell food, beverage, and promotional items to enhance guest experience.
- Receive food and beverage orders, deliver them to guest rooms promptly, and collect payment.
- Adhere to responsible alcohol service practices, including ID verification and refusal of service to intoxicated guests.
- Maintain cleanliness standards in the kitchen and IRD storage areas.
- Follow tray and cart pickup procedures to ensure cleanliness of guest hallways.
- Properly set up, deliver, and charge for amenities according to The Seagate Amenity Policies.
- Adhere to all Health Department standards and comply with departmental and hotel policies and procedures.
- Communicate any relevant information to management at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Clock in and out for each shift; notify a manager if unable to do so.
- Perform medium physical work, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently or constantly.
- Stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
- Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach to fulfill job duties.
- Perform repetitive tasks such as grasping, writing, and operating POS systems.
- Work in varied temperatures and environmental conditions as required.
Position Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Previous experience in food and beverage service is required; serving experience is preferred.
- TIPS and/or ServSafe certification(s) are a plus.
- Flexible schedule availability, including holidays and weekends.
- Proficiency in English communication.
