What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at Seagate Hospitality Group?
The Server provides food and beverage service to members and guests.
Server Responsibilities:
- Maintain and positive attitude, be polite and provide the first-rate service
- Sets up side station and performs assigned side work.
- Provides immediate attention to all members/guests upon seating.
- Distributes menus.
- If local water conservation laws permit, fill glasses with ice water while guests decide upon order; answer questions, and suggest menu items.
- Takes members’/guests’ orders.
- Turns orders into the kitchen; tells cooks about any special cooking instructions.
- Assembles food on the tray; procures items from each station as necessary.
- Serve meals; place dishes by courses in front of each person; serve from the left of the person.
- Checks back to ensure member/guest satisfaction; replenishes water and butter as necessary.
- Removes soiled dishes.
- Suggests and serves dessert, coffee, and after-dinner drinks.
- Verifies accuracy of prices, state and federal taxes, tips, and other charges on all checks. Ring in on the POS system.
- Presents the bill.
- Handles all charges as applicable from guests and members as prescribed by standard operating procedures.
- Keeps tables, dining rooms, and bus stations clean and tidy.
- Advises supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur.
- Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned by the manager.
- Attends pre-meal meetings as requested by the Dining Room Supervisor or Food and Beverage Manager).
- Able to lift 30 lbs comfortably.
- Perform any additional tasks that may be requested by his or her supervisor.
