What are the responsibilities and job description for the Animal Control Officer position at Seagoville City Hall?
Summary: The purpose of the position is to manage animal populations; control diseases spread by animals, and enhance the general health of the community by enforcing the public health code and the Seagoville City Ordinance.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED; MUST possess the Basic Animal Control Certificate from the Texas State Dept of Health Services; six (6) months experience working with animals (care, control, and handling). Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Special Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age; Texas Class "C" Driver's License. MUST possess the Basic Animal Control Certificate from the Texas State Dept of Health Services. State certified Euthanasia Technician preferred
Miscellaneous Information
Shall be subject to be on-call during non-working hours. Shall be subject to working evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be available for timely response to after hours call-outs when on-call duty. Must be able to complete comprehensive background check to include drug screen. Applications may be printed from website or picked up.at 702 N.
