Position Overview
We are seeking a confident, resilient Direct Support Professional to work one-on-one with a young individual who has complex behavioral needs. This position requires someone who can build trust, maintain calm during challenging situations, and create positive engagement through active, outdoor activities. The ideal candidate will have experience with applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques and crisis intervention methods.

Key Responsibilities
- Implement behavior management strategies using ABA principles
- Engage in physical and outdoor activities aligned with interests
- Provide consistent, calm support during behavioral challenges
- Document progress, interventions, and outcomes
- Collaborate with current support staff who have established positive relationships
- Assist in developing and following individualized support plans
- Create opportunities for skill development and positive social interactions
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with complex behavioral needs
- Training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or willingness to learn
- MANDT certification or similar crisis intervention training (preferred)
- Experience with Complex Behavioral Collaborative approaches (a plus)
- Physical stamina to participate in active outdoor pursuits
- Calm, confident demeanor in challenging situations
- Reliable transportation
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Pass Background check
- Drivers License
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.67 - $27.35 per hour
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Weekends as needed
