What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Sourcing Engineer position at Seakeeper Inc?
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Only the highest quality components go into a Seakeeper and as our Product Sourcing Engineer, you’ll scour the globe and utilize your technical background to identify and develop the best vendor partners. You’ll work within our global sourcing team to identify needs as well as secure and develop partnerships allowing us to bring new products into production and ensure a smooth handoff to the production team. You’ll become an expert on our current and future manufacturing processes and use that knowledge to push our supply partners to meet our engineering, quality, and cost requirements. You’ll make an immediate impact at Seakeeper by:
- Collaborating with engineering project teams to identify, qualify, and develop both prototype and production capable supply partners
- Building relationships with new partners by advocating the Seakeeper story, growth plan, market position, and future potential
- Iterating and innovating our prototype supply strategy to allow world-class product development speed
- Facilitating the quoting, purchasing, and on-time delivery of development materials in support of our project teams
- Developing expertise on the components and technology that make up our entire gyro and/or Ride product portfolios
- Leading the qualification of new or modified manufacturing processes to provide future cost reduction opportunities
- Auditing suppliers and keeping an up-to-date database of their capabilities, strengths, and weaknesses
- Ensuring corrective actions are implemented and sustainable for long term value creation
- Partnering with our operations team to ensure a consistent short- and long-term sourcing and quality strategy as you learn and observe from your product development perspective
- Establishing and implementing key performance indicators (KPIs) for new and existing supply base for operations team to track and ensure quality, delivery and cost performance
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

MUST-HAVES
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or similar applicable engineering field
- 3 years' experience in product design, manufacturing, or industrial engineering
- Experience in manufacturing facilities with a demonstrated ability to digest, comprehend and communicate manufacturing processes and their technical significance
- Ability to read and digest engineering drawings and requirements
- Ferocious attention to detail and “won’t take no for an answer” attitude
- Strong command of Microsoft Office products
- A valid passport
NICE-TO-HAVES
- 5 years of experience in Industrial Engineering
- Experience with casting, forging, and fabrication processes and standards
- Understanding of Machine Tools and the capabilities/workflows associated with them
- Understanding of GD&T requirements
- Experience with change management and process improvement (LEAN, Six-sigma, etc.)
MORE DETAILS YOU’LL WANT TO KNOW
- You'll be based onsite in Leesport, PA five days a week
- You’ll report to the Director of Global Sourcing, also based in PA
- Travel up to 30-50% of the time both domestic and globally mostly visiting our supply partners and potentially our other global facilities

Our Product Sourcing Engineer is nestled within our Global Sourcing team. It is a team that covers a lot of ground supporting all global sourcing initiatives for Seakeeper with team members scattered around the globe. This role offers an opportunity to shape our global supply chain strategy from the ground up!
