What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Manager position at Sealed Air Corporation?
The Maintenance Manager will assess equipment performance over the last 24 hours and organize maintenance resources to develop daily corrective action plans to improve uptime and reliability. Additionally, they will lead proactive and predictive maintenance initiatives including overhauls and other predictive work. They will report updates and action plans in daily integration meetings and lead long term projects to meet KPI’s. They own the equipment reliability KPI’s, equipment performance and will focus on short term to long term continuous improvement projects focused on repairs and reliability.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Provides leadership to team of 20 maintenance technicians which includes following Performance Management System, setting expectations that align to area’s business objectives and providing routine feedback on performance.
- Monitors team performance and audits activities to ensure personnel are performing quality work, supporting a quality product and providing service to meet all Sealed Air’s goals.
- Manages the PDCA process to include problem statement, root cause analysis, and counter measure implementation to resolve issues and prevent recurrence
- Works with area improvement teams to identify, evaluate, and implement reliability improvement opportunities through changes to operating procedures, maintenance procedures, and equipment upgrades.
- Develop, post, and communicate procedures/processes that support the Seneca Site maintenance strategies.
- Own their area's development program which includes training, education, and hands-on experience.
- Directs the METs, TMLs and MTs and provides expertise (training, standards, SPLs)
- Ensures that work is accomplished accurately and safely by METs, TMLs and MTs (regular audits need to be performed by the GML).
- Develop Proactive Maintenance Opportunities
- Own and update KPIs related to their MPG and drive behavior to improve performance. Ownership for standard documentation (PLC program, Drive program, HMI, equipment drawing, FMEA’s)
- Responsible for maintenance financials.
- Responsible for maintenance safety.
- Responsible for workplace organization (WPO).
- Ensure METs, TMLs and MTs are following proper change management
- Apply basic functions of SAP to all aspect of Asset Management
- Lead small to medium capital projects and PAR process
- Benchmark sister plants regularly
- Support SQF certification.
- Set storeroom inventory classifications and stocking levels.
- Encourage utilities cost reduction in the area
- Provides reliability support, technology expertise and best practices for design reviews, construction, operability, maintainability and standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required. Engineering or technical degree preferred
- 3-5 years of Maintenance experience in a manufacturing experience.
- Demonstrated safety commitment.
- Positive interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in PIDs, electrical schematics, mechanical layout and design.
- Positive work history with an ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Computer aptitude, to include proficiency in MS Office suite, project management software
- Solidworks knowledge preferred.
- SAP PM experience preferred.

- Perform all duties using safe work methods and required safety inspections.
- Attend and participate in monthly Safety Meetings.
- Complies with all established safety rules and policies.
