What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. UX Designer Job at Sealed in New York position at Sealed?
The bridge between climate policy, contractors, and homeowners
Sealed is a climate tech company with a mission to stop home energy waste and electrify all homes. We are a unique blend of technologists, policy wonks, and home services experts to get the boots on the ground as fast and effectively as possible.
We provide software and solutions to contractors, enabling them to install more home weatherization and electrification projects, grow their business, and make homes more comfortable with less energy waste.
Sealed's software, data, and analytics enable market leading products, including a one-stop shop rebate solution and investment grade energy savings predictions. Sealed also serves as an aggregator of projects for utility and government incentives, handling all rebate processing and payment on behalf of contractors, enabling contractors to participate in measured savings, Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), and other programs with minimal additional costs or friction.
We are venture-backed and based in New York City with team members across the country. Learn more at sealed.com.
As a Senior UX Designer, you will…
Our product is a two-sided platform consisting of B2SMB (contractors) and RegTech (federal, state, and local energy efficiency incentive programs) components. We build internal tools for our operations team, and own core data science features which predict energy savings to underwrite cash advances to contractors. This role is not scoped to a specific feature space or product vertical, so you should expect to move around and work in all of those areas. Day to day, the role involves :
- Connecting the engineering team to the users, understanding our strategy and challenges, and identifying design solutions
- Doing the research, design, and iteration to keep our roadmap projects moving on schedule and landing with impact
- Shadowing sales and account management calls either online or in the field to understand their needs
- Reviewing product metrics and LogRockets to identify the biggest opportunities for improvement and then proposing them as roadmap projects or smaller opportunistic refinements
- Partnering with the product team to ensure and maintain a high bar on user experience throughout the planning and release lifecycle
- Shaping our team’s design and broader product & eng processes
