What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Girls Wrestling Coach - SHS position at Seaman Unified School District 345?
Seaman USD#345 has an opening for a Head Girls Wrestling Coach at Seaman High School for the 2025-26 school year.
The head wrestling position is responsible for teaching the fundamental, high-level techniques of competing in a varsity-level, high school program. The head coach must motivate student-athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport and the demands required to compete in high school wrestling. This position begins of the winter sport season from November 2025 to March 2026 and inlcudes summer and fall pre-season practices and conditioning activities. The candidate must have coaching experience and/or have competed in the sport of wrestling.
Essential Duties:
1. Works with student-athletes during off-season workouts, camps and in-season competition.
2. Holds organizational meetings for athletes and encourages new student participation.
3. Assesses individual skill level to determine Varsity/JV team and assembling a lineup.
4. Develops a schedule and organizes practice time to provide both individual and team development at all levels in conjunction with and input from the assistant coaching staff.
5. Configures a staff of assistant coaches and communicates defined roles within the program.
6. Communicates with the Athletic Director regarding scheduling, alpha weigh-in, hydration, certification, facilities, practice, meets and the daily operation of the SHS wrestling program.
7. Observes athletes in practice/meets to determine areas for individual & team improvement.
8. Maintains a standard of student behavior and provides supervision of student-athletes.
9. Monitors the academic performance of team members to ensure eligibility requirements.
10. Communicates & builds relationships with coaches/administration at the SMS and Jr. Viking Wreslting Club in promoting the SHS wrestling within our progam/school district.
11. Follows procedures and works with our Athletic Trainer in the care and prevention of injuries.
12. Communicates with parents/guardians regarding the performance of the student-athlete.
13. Follows KSHSAA regulations and guidelines that govern Seaman High School athletics.
14. Models sportsmanship while demonstrating appropriate conduct and behavior toward athletes, officials, administation, staff, parents and spectators, etc.
15. Follows established procedures for maintaining equipment, uniforms and supplies.
16. Participates in events to include parent meeting, team dinners, banquet and assemblies in the promotion of the SHS wrestling program.
17. Maintains statistics, eligibility forms, emergency info, insurance records, equipment inventory, and other related records in conjunction with the SHS Athletic Department.
18. Continues to honor past accomplishments for inclusion in the Seaman Wrestling Hall of Fame.
19. Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities related to football and otherwise.
20. Enhance a winning culture that emhasizes hard work, structure, discipline and integrity.
