International Bank in NYC is seeking a VP, Credit Analyst to join their Credit Management Department. This individual will have minimum 7 years' experience, to include some experience in non-investment grade customer’s credit analysis preferably at a commercial bank.
Credit Analyst Responsibilities:
- Credit Analyst will review Front Office’s credit proposals and prepare credit review comments for Credit Committee considerations.
- Successfully conduct credit analysis for all new proposals, perform periodic reviews for existing customers/exposures, process waivers/consents/amendments and conduct industry and customer research as needed.
- Propose and initiate internal customer ratings
- Manage and maintain credit limits and their utilization, report irregularities to the Head of Credit Management Department and recommend remediation plans in the event the credit limit is breached or close to being breached.
- Successfully engage in post-lending management, including collateral management for the existing customers and credit exposure.
- Manage and maintain the Bank’s credit management information systems, and generate periodic reports from those systems and ensure the reports are produced accurately and on a timely basis.
- Credit Analyst will review credit system reports, notes, documents and report irregularities to the Head on a regular basis.
- Ability to coordinate with the Front Office departments, Finance, Operations, Treasury, Internal Audit, Legal & Compliance and any other internal or external parties on credit risk management related matters.
- Credit Analyst will review the credit commitment letter and legal documentation to ensure the final contract terms are consistent with the credit approval.
- Credit Analyst will propose exit plans/strategy for Problem Assets.
- Additional Ad Hoc tasks assigned by the Department Head from time to time. Ability to act as the back-up for the Head of the Credit Management Department.
- Ability to provide administrative support to the Credit Committee.
Credit Analyst Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree. Master’s degree preferred, a major in Finance, Accounting or Economics is desired.
- 7 plus years of relevant working experience, with some experience in non-investment grade customer’s credit analysis preferably at a commercial bank; comfortable with fundamental analysis and familiar with the U.S. industries and companies.
- Knowledge in commercial banking products, including loans, trade finance, Project finance, counterparty businesses, etc.
- Strong knowledge in accounting and financial reporting analysis, cash flow and ratio analysis
- Some understanding of the Basel framework, rating agencies, local regulations.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
Salary : $140,000 - $180,000
