About The Role:
The Director of Human Resources is a people, talent, and cultural champion who will be a hands-on leader for all aspects of HR activities including but not limited to: day to day administration, compensation and benefits, total culture enhancement, talent management, safety, compliance and training & development, and more. This individual is a skillful HR expert with the ability to work collaboratively and build consensus in a matrix team environment.
What You Will Do
Oversee and actively participate in the day to day HR activities across the organization in alignment with the Company’s strategic direction
Administer and oversee the administration of all HR programs including but not limited to: compensation, benefits and leave, disciplinary matters, employee relations, performance and talent management, cultural initiatives, safety, workers compensation, employee engagement, recruitment, and training
Maintains high levels of confidentiality with all matters
Build, implement and maintain HR policies and procedures that support the Company’s goals and objectives.
Supports management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions; analyzing information and applications.
Identify ways and continually work on increasing retention and build high performing teams
Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Assist with preparing and administering the department budget.
Works with HR and company leaders to establish the long-term and short-term strategies of the department
Support and drive process for annual review, preparation and administration of the Company’s wage and salary program
Develop processes and tools to measure impact and value of HR initiatives to the organization
Manage labor and employee relations in conjunction with management and legal counsel as needed
Prepares routine and ad hoc reports as needed
Assists management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees.
Support recruitment efforts as needed
Establish and maintain effective employee communication channels are established and active including the Open Door policy
Partner with recruitment team to ensure an effective and on-going workforce planning strategy is in place
Diagnose and recommend solutions that positively impact leadership development, employee relations, retention, and organization structure, interpreting, communicating and ensuring consistent application of company guidelines and procedures.
Support administration of legal matter and consults with legal counsel as appropriate, and/or as directed the HR leadership on personnel matters.
Follows all company and safety and security policies and procedures; ensures timely reporting of issues to appropriate channels
Stay up to date with industry and HR trends, job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.
Performs other duties, project, initiatives as per business need
About You:
10 years Human Resources management experience preferably in multi-concept hospitality organization or related experience
Strong leadership and business acumen with prior experience managing and developing a team
Deep understanding of labor laws, wage and hour, and employment regulations
Exceptional people skills, instinctual nature, and naturally high EQ
Able to exercise sound judgment, sensitivity, and creativity to changing business needs
Trustworthy with ability to handle highly confidential and proprietary information
Highly organized with ability to oscillate between high level thinking and ground level detail
Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to deliver effective results, meet deadlines and targets while working on a broad variety of projects
Thrives in a dynamic work environment with multiple priorities
Ability to build positive working relationships with employees and leaders at all levels within the organization.
Expert in critical decision making, has a “Can-do” attitude, and resourceful
Proficient with MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook applications.
Prior experience utilizing HRIS software and navigating HR systems
Related HR degree and/or certification is a plus
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the property. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, climb steps regularly, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
Compensation range: $130,000 - $150,000 per year
