What are the responsibilities and job description for the Analyst, Pricing Valuations, Structured Products position at Seaport Global Holdings LLC?
Seaport Global Holdings LLC seeks an Analyst, Pricing Valuations, Structured Products to join our based Asset Backed Securities – Fixed Income team.
The Analyst will be responsible for evaluating asset backed and mortgage-backed securities for the primary purpose of assisting our valuations service. In this position, the analyst will receive training in the products and programs and procedures used for valuing the investments. This position will work directly with structured products traders and salespeople and will have exposure to clients outside the firm. The work primarily involves cashflow modelling and reviewing legal documentation. The analyst will be responsible for developing models in Excel as well as using industry developed software analytic programs. Within this position the analyst will receive a great training ground from the valuations group for an entry level position to learn the specifics of how the mortgage and asset backed bond market works. The analyst position also provides a pathway to obtaining securities licenses including Series 7 and 63.
- Undergraduate business or math major preferred
- Knowledge and experience with building financial models in Excel
- Ability to manage expectations of Traders, Salespeople and outside Clients while working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill
