Food Runner AM

Scope of Position As a Food Runner this position will provide support to restaurant servers/bartenders and the overall operation of the restaurant by serving food orders, removing used dishes and utensils and replenishing service areas as necessary to ensure our guests’ satisfaction.  A Food Runner is knowledgeable of food and beverage offerings and provides service that is informed, attentive, timely and professional.  Food Runner will also provide delivery service to our guests who order through In-Room Dining.  This position will report to the Food and Beverage Managers.  Schedule Requirements Schedule will vary; working weekends, and holidays will be necessary.  Key Responsibilities  ·         Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner  ·         Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately ·         Act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff ·         Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies) ·         Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g. proper temperature) ·         Remove dirty dishes and utensils ·         Answer guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items ·         Inform restaurant staff about customers’ feedback or requests (e.g. when they ask for the check) ·         Clean, set and clear tables in support of restaurant servers when needed ·         Provide serving support to servers – beverage and food ·         Maintain restaurant in clean and orderly manner ·         Move table and chairs as required ·         Coordinate stocking of linens with management team ·         Transport all dirty tableware to dishwashing area for cleaning ·         Stock and maintain stations with necessary equipment ·         Helping other outlets within the department as needed ·         Deliver orders to rooms and finalize transactions on Micros Terminal from room deliveries ordered through IRIS. ·         Extensive knowledge of food and beverage offerings ·         Answers all guest questions ·         Set up orders          ·         Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner ·         Performs floor sweeps ·         Delivers all requested amenities to rooms ·         Responsible for practicing, managing and promoting our Mission and Values so that it becomes an intricate part of the everyday operation ·         Completes any duties or projects assigned by the Food and Beverage manager   Required Job Knowledge and Skills  ·         Food and Beverage knowledge would be beneficial ·         Committed to delivering a high level of customer service ·         Excellent grooming standards ·         Ability to work under pressure ·         Ability to work on their own ·         Positive attitude ·         Good communication skills ·         Experience as a Food Expeditor or similar entry-level role in a restaurant ·         Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules ·         Physical ability to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours ·         Availability to work various shifts, including weekends ·         Multi-tasking abilities    Experience: ·         Previous exposure to a restaurant setting preferred  Education: ·         High School diploma, general education degree or international equivalent required. ·         CPR/Heimlich training preferred ·         TIPS certified preferred, will provide training   Language Skills: ·         Fluency of the English language is required (read, write, speak)      This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the person occupying this position.  The person in this position will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor.
