Position Summary The Development Technical Associate plays a key role in supporting the DevOps Senior Specialist by assisting with technical tasks and executing strategies that contribute to the overall success of the DevOps team. The DevOps team manages critical in-house functions for the Development Department, ensuring the effective use of fundraising systems, maintaining data accuracy, generating timely reports, facilitating donor acknowledgments, ensuring compliance with fundraising policies, and overseeing the implementation of the department’s annual development plan. This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, a passion for data and analytics, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a high level of focus and determination to see tasks through to completion. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of handling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. A passion for process improvement and efficiency is essential, along with the ability to anticipate challenges and think several steps ahead to prevent issues before they arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date donor records within the Salesforce CRM, ensuring data integrity and reliability. Regularly audit and clean up donor data to ensure ongoing data accuracy and eliminate redundancies or errors in Salesforce.
- Gather, organize, and analyze data from Salesforce to identify trends and insights that support data-driven decision-making for senior leadership, contributing to presentations and reports.
- Assist in the technical execution of donation acknowledgments and prepare annual tax statements for donors, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of data transfer and reconciliation procedures between online platforms and the Finance and Development teams, ensuring smooth and accurate financial processes.
- Develop tools such as Salesforce reports, dashboards, and automated workflows to enhance the daily operations and efficiency of the Development team.
- Produce both ad-hoc and standard forecasts, performance reports, and metrics that provide insights into the success of fundraising efforts and donor engagement.
- Assist with technical aspects of the donation process, troubleshoot potential issues with payment processors, and ensure seamless donation workflows.
- Contribute to the annual review of business continuity plans, manage asset organization, and ensure proper housekeeping of team documentation and storage systems.
- Provide support for the implementation of donor engagement and stewardship strategies, particularly for gift officer portfolios, as needed.
- Collaborate on special projects and fulfill requests from team members as they arise, ensuring technical needs are met and processes run smoothly.
- Gain a deep understanding of how the Development team interacts with other departments, ensuring cross-functional alignment and seamless collaboration.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for technical processes, systems, and tools used by the Development team, ensuring ease of use and consistency across the team.
- Offer training and technical support to Development team members on Salesforce and other relevant platforms, enabling staff to maximize the use of systems and tools.
- Identify opportunities to automate routine tasks or improve workflows within the CRM and related platforms, increasing operational efficiency and reducing manual effort.
- Assist in ensuring that data handling, storage, and transfer processes comply with internal policies and external regulations, including data privacy laws.
- Assist outward-facing associates with back-end technical tasks, such as resolving broken transactions, addressing technical malfunctions, and liaising with the Tech department when necessary.
