About the Role: As a Direct Support Professional, you play a vital role in delivering high-quality, community-based services to adults with disabilities. This position offers an extraordinary opportunity to change lives and inspire others to do the same.
We are currently looking to hire for full-time DSPs to work in our Adult Learning Program and Supported Living Program. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift.
Schedules (Full-Time):
- 1st Shift- Monday-Friday 8a.m.-4p.m.
- 2nd Shift- Saturday, Sunday 9:30a.m.-9:30p.m. Monday, Friday 3:30p.m.-11:30p.m.
- 3rd Shift- (Weekday) Monday-Thursday 11p.m.-9a.m. (Weekend) Friday 5p.m.-9a.m. Saturday, Sunday 9p.m.-9a.m.
Salary: $20.75/HR
Locations: Mount Prospect, Skokie, and Morton Grove (IL)
Responsibilities:
- Provide support with personal self-care tasks such as toileting, eating, grooming, bathing, and dressing.
- Contribute to the planning and participation in various community activities and medical appointments.
- Offer necessary transportation support to ensure residents' participation.
- Engage actively with residents, implementing meaningful activities throughout their day or evening.
- Understand and follow Individual Service Plans, actively contributing to the achievement of established goals for the current period.
- Support residents in various recreational activities, programs, and goal-oriented initiatives.
- Provide supervision and attention throughout the day to ensure the safety and well-being of residents.
- Be committed to providing the highest quality of life for our residents, fostering a supportive and nurturing environment.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and/or GED
- The ability to lift/carry up to 44 lbs. and perform basic physical moves such as kneeling, reaching, crouching, bending, and twisting.
- Required valid drivers license.
- The willingness to be certified to drive 10-16 passenger vehicles is required. We provide the training and certification process.
- Flexibility to work weekend shifts and potentially some holidays are required.
- 2 weeks of full-time paid training is provided and required to become certified as a DSP (regardless of previous training).
- The ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification, however, training is provided.
- Must meet federal (I9) and State requirements (i.e.: fingerprinting, background check, etc.)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to be a certified driver through PACE Vanpool.
