Job Description:
The Quality Assurance Engineer oversees, implements, and refines key aspects of the Quality Management System to maintain high production standards. This role involves ensuring compliance with industry regulations, conducting audits, analyzing production data, and leading initiatives to enhance product quality. The ideal candidate will work independently and collaboratively to drive continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and customer requirements.
- Plan and conduct internal and supplier audits, as well as training programs, to uphold compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and IATF 16949 quality standards.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend quality improvements.
- Develop and implement process enhancements to minimize defects and increase efficiency.
- Evaluate supplier performance, collaborating with key vendors to improve material quality.
- Oversee warranty processes, including inspections, documentation, and failure analysis of returned components.
- Lead and support cross-functional teams in problem-solving efforts to meet operational goals.
- Facilitate containment activities internally and externally to ensure quality-certified products reach customers.
- Encourage error-proofing measures and challenge corrective action plans to address root causes.
- Provide technical guidance for supplier and system development to maintain compliance with engineering and quality specifications.
- Conduct first article inspections (FAI) and production part approval processes (PPAP) to verify incoming product quality.
- Communicate quality status updates internally and externally to key stakeholders.
- May be responsible for training employees, delegating tasks, and resolving production-related concerns.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field with at least three years of relevant experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as DOT, Transport Canada, EN, ASME, and ASTM is preferred.
- Experience in process optimization, supplier quality, welding of ferrous metals, and non-destructive testing is a plus.
- Certified Quality Engineer certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, regulations, and procedural documents.
- Hands-on experience with root-cause analysis and error-proofing techniques.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Working knowledge of probability, statistical analysis, geometric concepts, and data interpretation.
- In-depth understanding of IATF 16949 requirements and AIAG core tools.
- Experience with SPC, capability studies, gage R&R, and sampling methodologies.
- Knowledge of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
- Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of customers and suppliers.

Salary : $80,000 - $95,000
