Job Description:
This position involves extensive travel and focuses on providing engineering expertise for commissioning and startup activities. The primary goal is to ensure the safe and efficient handover of complex facilities, such as LNG and cryogenic systems, to end clients. This includes offering technical support, overseeing startup operations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results.
- Develop operating manuals based on engineering designs for client facilities.
- Participate in design reviews, including P&ID walkthroughs, HAZOPs, and other evaluations.
- Provide insights related to commissioning, startup, operations, and maintenance during the design and engineering phases.
- Conduct site inspections of cryogenic equipment and prepare punch lists to address any discrepancies.
- Lead operator training sessions prior to startup and post-commissioning.
- Ensure all systems and equipment meet project requirements and industry standards during commissioning.
- Oversee plant startup, ensuring safe operations and achievement of performance criteria.
- Perform engineering tasks such as running process simulations (using tools like HYSYS or Pro/II) and creating deliverables including PFDs, HMBs, data sheets, and control narratives.
- Document lessons learned during projects and share feedback with the engineering team.
Position Requirements:
- 3 years of commissioning and startup experience in LNG, gas processing, cryogenic systems, or similar facilities; operational experience in oil, gas, chemical, or refinery industries is also relevant.
- Strong understanding of startup procedures and industry best practices.
- Experience developing startup plans, procedures, and operational manuals.
- Skilled in troubleshooting, equipment evaluation, and performance testing.
- Proficiency with process simulation tools like HYSYS, Unisim, or Pro/II is preferred.
- Familiarity with engineering codes and standards, such as ANSI, ASME, ASTM, and API.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Flexibility to travel extensively (up to 50%) and spend significant time at client sites globally.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
