What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electronics Repair Engineer position at Search & Seal?
We're looking for an Electronics Repair Engineer to take the lead on diagnosing and repairing complex industrial systems down to the component level. You’ll reverse engineer failures, solve tricky problems, and handle the kind of work that doesn’t come with a manual.
The Work
- Repair AC/DC drives, VFDs, servo/spindle drives, soft starts, etc.
- Work on HMIs, industrial PCs, monitors, and teach pendants
- Troubleshoot PLCs, controllers, timers, temp controls, and safety systems
- Repair industrial power supplies and all types of circuit boards
- Read schematics, run tests, and use scopes/meters for diagnostics
- Perform precision soldering/desoldering (SMT thru-hole)
- Reverse engineer faults, document findings, and source parts
Desirable Experience
- Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- Strong foundation in core electronics and components
- Skilled in troubleshooting down to component level
- Comfortable with IGBTs, relays, diodes, caps, resistors, optos, thermistors, etc.
- Hands-on, curious, and detail-driven
