Job Overview :
Search Solution Group is seeking a Controls Engineer on behalf of our client, a leading global supplier of automotive acoustical and textile solutions. This critical role focuses on designing, programming, troubleshooting, and providing start-up assistance for automated and robotic systems. The Controls Engineer will also play a key part in supporting facility electrical requirements and assist with various production-related IT needs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, specify, and program control systems for automated and robotic systems.
- Provide troubleshooting and start-up assistance for new and existing systems.
- Share responsibility for facility electrical requirements, including switchgear, substations, load balancing, and Arc-Safe ratings.
- Program Allen-Bradley PLC's and Siemens S7 PLC's for various control systems.
- Configure I / O systems, including discrete, analog, Ethernet, and servo motion control.
- Utilize Visual Basic programming for system integration.
- Work with Keyence cameras, IFM cameras, and laser measurement / detection systems for system calibration and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with the IT department on production-related IT needs such as barcode reading, label printing, and OEM computer software installations.
- Develop panel layouts, electrical designs, and wiring schematics.
- Lead engineering efforts in the implementation of standard engineering practices.
- Provide project management oversight on program launches and equipment upgrades.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.
