What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Vice President position at Search Solution Group?
Purpose
The Regional Vice President of Operations (RVP) position is responsible for overseeing all locations within their assigned region. This includes full P&L responsibility for all locations, direct management of the Regional Directors and interfacing with location, facilities, finance, human resources and marketing departments to lead the execution of the operating plan for the business.
This person reports to the Vice President of Operations and has direct interaction with the President / Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Executive Officer and department leaders.
Objectives
- Execute upon our operating plan to ensure that we meet and beat our financial objectives across the region.
- Work with Regional Directors to ensure that all locations are operating at client’s standard from an operational, facilities and marketing perspective.
- Spend 40-50% of time reviewing data and working with Regional and Area management to set, measure and assist in development of their goals as well as to work alongside other departments to execute on our company goals, including attainment and outperformance of our financial targets.
- Ensure that all locations are focusing on staff retention and development to maintain 90% employee retention rates.
- Set membership growth and retention goals for each location and review data on a daily and weekly basis to ensure we are attaining those goals.
- Lead the implementation and execution of cross department functions in the field: Facilities / IT, Marketing, HR, and Accounting. Set the direction for Facilities priorities in the region.
Scope of Responsibility
Financial
- Full P&L (4-Wall) P&L responsibility including KPI/COGS standards and looking for efficiencies to gain cost savings.
- Monthly goal setting and review of membership counts, average ticket per customer, fleet revenue and overall revenue with Regional Directors for each location. Leading the adjustment of goals if necessary.
- Meet and beat same store sales growth targets on an annual basis across the region.
- Create and execute upon plans to improve financial performance in underperforming regions.
- Participate in yearly budgeting and strategic planning with department heads and C-suite.
Culture
- Ensuring management is maintaining client’s culture of respect and communication across all stores.
Development
- Execution of our training programs across your region to ensure we have a bench ready for promotion as positions become open.
- Regular review with Regional and Area management of the training and development of the Team Leader, Shift Leader, Store Manager, General Manager and Multi-Site Director positions.
- Regular Area Director site standards walks to ensure our quality is maintained at all units.
- Weekly review of staffing levels / schedules with each Regional Director.
Recruiting
- Ensure we have a staff of A players at each of our locations, and that we have a backlog of A players to supplement turnover.
- Measuring interview performance and working with leaders who need assistance in recruitment of unit staff.
- Working with Regional Directors to lead the interview process for Multi-Site Director and Area Director candidates.
- Lead the recruiting process for Regional Director candidates.
Facilities/IT
- Set the direction and hold the cross departmental accountability with your Facilities team to execute on priorities in your region.
- Communicating with the Regional Facilities Director to coordinate and ensure operational readiness for upcoming facilities projects, and coordinate equipment and facility repairs, including being prepared for and ready to participate in the weekly Facilities call.
- Review MaintainX tickets for each location with your Regional Director and Area Directors.
- Quarterly meetings with main vendors to provide feedback and direction and look for opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies.
