Job Overview :
Search Solution Group is seeking a Sr Operations Manager on behalf of our client. This critical leadership role is responsible for overseeing the Value Stream process flow in a fast-paced, multi-shift manufacturing facility. This position ensures colleague safety, product quality, and achievement of performance objectives, while fostering a continuous improvement culture. The Value Stream / Operations Manager will lead strategic transformation projects, including the startup of packaging operations, and guide a team of salaried and hourly colleagues toward operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead a strategic transformation project involving the installation, staffing, ramp-up, and management of new packaging operations.
Drive Daily Direction Setting (DDS) and Value Stream (VS) execution.
Balance short-term business delivery with long-term strategic priorities (safety, quality, cost, and schedule adherence).
Foster a continuous improvement culture, supporting strong root cause analysis and "make it right the first time" mentality.
Support a zero-loss mindset and total employee ownership culture.
Participate in the development of VS-specific financial commitments and annual budgets.
Provide clear goals, regular feedback, and coaching to direct reports.
Develop team members for future leadership roles within the organization.
Lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with various internal departments (Distribution, Finance, HR, etc.).
Understand VS-specific product costs, including Direct Labor (DL), Variable Expenses (VE), Period, and Major Maintenance.
Summarize and share key operational results with plant management monthly.
Build and lead a team of 4-8 salaried direct reports and indirectly manage 400 hourly colleagues across multiple shifts.
Maintain relationships with contract labor suppliers and other key stakeholders. Requirements Include :
Education :
Bachelor's degree required. Experience :
10 years of Value Stream Management or Production Management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience with Integrated Work Systems (IWS) and Lean Manufacturing. Skills :
Strong financial acumen related to product costs and systems (SAP experience preferred).
Results-focused with the ability to achieve safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
Exceptional leadership skills with demonstrated ability to motivate and develop teams.
Proficiency in Tableau, PowerBI, or equivalent dashboards is preferred. Certifications :
Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies are a plus. Knowledge :
Thorough understanding of engineering projects and processes.
Knowledge of Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and high-speed manufacturing environments preferred. Key Competencies :

Work environment includes both office and manufacturing settings.
Requires flexibility to interact with colleagues across all shifts.
Occasional travel within the U.S.
