**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Controller to join our dynamic finance team. This growth-related role will be a key leader in managing the financial reporting and month-end close process for six healthcare companies. The Assistant Controller will manage a team of two accountants and work closely with the Controller to streamline operations, with the potential to grow into the Controller role within two years.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Oversee the month-end close and financial reporting process for six companies
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of two accountants
- Collaborate with the Controller to ensure accurate and timely financial statements
- Drive process improvements and efficiencies within the accounting department
- Lead and participate in the implementation of a new accounting software over the next year
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and healthcare industry regulations
- Assist in preparing and presenting financial reports to senior management and stakeholders
- Contribute to the development and monitoring of KPI metrics
Assistant Controller Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with healthcare industry experience required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and Healthcare revenue cycle management
- Experience in managing or mentoring accounting staff
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proven ability to handle multiple entities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with accounting software implementation (preferred)
- A highly experienced Senior Accountant ready for the next step will also be considered
