We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Body Shop Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting damaged vehicles, estimating repair costs, and working closely with insurance companies to facilitate claims. This position requires strong communication and technical skills, as well as a solid understanding of automotive repairs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assess damaged vehicles to evaluate the extent of structural, body, mechanical, or interior damage.
- Accurately estimate the cost of labor and parts required for repairs or replacements.
- Collaborate with the Body Shop Manager or Foreman to review and validate repair cost estimates.
- Determine whether damaged parts (such as bumpers, fenders, and doors) should be repaired or replaced.
- Assess the feasibility of repairs versus the total loss value, considering the vehicle's market value before the accident.
- Calculate the salvage value for vehicles considered a total loss.
- Prepare and submit insurance forms detailing repair cost estimates and recommendations.
- Estimate the cost of repainting, conversions, or customizations for undamaged vehicles.
