FUNCTION
The Financial Analyst I is responsible for developing and providing accurate and timely financial information and analysis for use in monthly and annual financial reporting. The position maintains product standard costs and manages property asset accounting and capital budgeting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Creates and distributes financial reports and information related to business unit operational performance (examples):
- Month-end financial statements and preparation of supporting journal entries
- Maintains product cost information and associated inventory valuation
- Account reconciliations
- Forecast vs. Actual analysis
- Capital Budgeting and Authorization For Expenditure (AFE) tracking
- Fixed asset reporting and justification
- Provides advanced cost and profit analysis used in decision making.
- New product cost analysis and profitability assessments
- Discounted Cash Flow support for new product programs
- Profit and key customer financial metric analysis
- Provides financial counsel to management and other functional disciplines.
- Provides ad-hoc requests for analysis and information.
- Identifies and implements process improvements to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Technical Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
The mental and physical requirements for successful performance of this job are:
- Technical understanding of accounting systems and policies, processes supporting generating income statements, balance sheets, statements of cash flow and managerial reporting.
- Technical understanding of financial concepts such as Budgets, Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Return on Investment (ROI), operating return on assets (OROA) – ability to perform complex functions and apply principles.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of Internal Controls and the relationship to disclosure and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of financial software packages (Microsoft Dynamics 365 will be a plus).
- Knowledge of Payroll processes and legal regulations.
- Strong Written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Education and/or Experience
- University Degree (four-year or equivalent) major in Accounting/Finance.
- Two to Three years of manufacturing accounting experience.
