Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all areas of maintenance.
Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
- This position requires cross training in all areas of maintenance, (plumbing, electric, carpenter, etc) and administrative.
- This position requires knowledge and experience in the safety and security (Resident Services) industy.
- Must be able to operate a golf cart and company vehicles.
- Maintenance of health care rooms, independent living homes, public areas, offices, restrooms, etc. assigned by your Director.
- Works in health care, independent areas and public areas on weekends and when needed. Must adhere to all healthcare procedures when working in healthcare.
- Maintains assigned areaa to create a safe environment for Searstone. Must be able to pass department inspections and health department inspections as required.
- Able to kneel to get down low to perform tasks.
- Help with trash process when needed.
- Has knowledge of infection control, OSHA / MSDS, and hazardous chemicals and waste. Have high standards toward safety set forth by Searstone and OSHA. PPE must be worn when cleaning and using / preparing chemicals.
- Must be able to know where the fire extinguisher is in their area and fire safety procedures.
- Must have high standards toward resident belongings and furniture. Do not bang into furniture when working. Show care toward resident belongings so that they do not break. Always report any damage to residents belongings/furniture or Searstone property.
- Maintain neat, clean and organized storage closets and carts during your shift and before you leave. NO food or drink allowed in or on any carts or equipment.
- Fills out and completes any documentation.
- Works directly with the maitenance and Resident services team and Directord to complete daily tasks.
- Ability you use a computer and software designated to the department and Searstone if required by your position &/or requested by your supervisor.
- Assist with supply storages, ordering supplies, inventory, ADP (payroll), scheduling appointments, Sara System responsibilities including but not limited to pendant management and managing schedules and any other needs &/or requests.
- Performs any other tasks that may be assigned by Manager or Director
- Wear proper uniform provided by Searstone to include name badge and appriate shoes.
Specific Project Maintenance Responsibilities.
1. Completes walk through with Dept Director/Moving Coordinator and/or contractors for the 10yr renovation and turnover apartments.
2. Meet with residents when needed to discuss renovation work.
3. Work with Director of Maintenance to schedule and oversee, meet with contractors, and complete necessary tasks in the renovation process.
4. Removal of all debris and old appliances.
5. Work with contractors including but not limited to painters, flooring, electricians and appliance to complete renovations.
Complete installation of new appliances, all necessary repairs, touch ups and punch list items in order to complete the renovation process.
QUALIFICATIONS: Read and write English, 5 years plus in a Maintenance setting such as a hotel, hospital, nursing home, or building service, specializing in Renovations and/or Turns of apartments. Must be able to pass a drug screen test and criminal record check. Knowledge of maintenance related equipment. Must be able to perform with in the Physical Demands of this position. Must be able to work weekends and rotate shifts as needed.
