Description
SUMMARY: A customer facing role providing excellent service to the resort’s bar customers. Serves guests quickly, efficiently and with complete knowledge of food and beverage menus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Takes beverage (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) orders from bar and patio patrons
- Communicates with bar and kitchen staff to ensure beverages and food are made correctly
- Greets customers as they are approaching the bar with a great attitude and customer service
- Maintain knowledge of the characteristics and description of all wine, beer and liquors in stock
- Maintain knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation and bar functions
- Complete all side duties as assigned
- Input orders into POS system
- Make drink and menu recommendations to customers in efforts to upsell
- Accept customer payments to close out tabs
- Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies at all times
- Ensure tables are clean and reset immediately after guests’ departure
- Complete all applicable reports and bank drop prior to ending each shift
- Attend staff meetings, training, and menu tastings as scheduled
- Perform other duties as directed by Restaurant Manager and Director of Food & Beverage
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Must be a motivated self starter; able to manage multiple tables and areas per shift
- Knowledge of drink preparation
- Ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions
- Ability to anticipate customer needs and adjust where necessary
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to navigate POS system
- Must meet legal age requirements for the position
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- 1-2 years in cocktail drink service
- Resort or relevant experience desired
- High school diploma or equal to a GED highly preferred
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES
- Food Handler Certificate required
- TIPS Certificate required
- Must present proof you are legally authorized to work in the US
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:
- Ability to lift 25-50 pounds
- Stand and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to lift, carry, deliver and serve from trays
- Frequently stoops, stands, lifts, shakes, stirs, pours, carries and pushes
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools and controls
