Description:

We are seeking an Account Manager (Outside Sales Rep), with a passion for fresh food, to join our growing team! Our ideal candidate understands that the produce industry is much more than offering commodities at the lowest possible price. This person has enthusiasm for quality foods, loves working in a fast-paced environment, and strives to provide an excellent customer experience. Eager to thrive in a dynamic setting, this individual seeks to expand existing partnerships while fostering new ones. With a dedicated approach to sales targets, they also enrich our team’s collaborative efforts with meaningful contributions. Our ideal candidate sees their customers as “partners” and possesses an insightful grasp of their businesses.

 

Responsibilities:

-         The primary focus of this role will be to nurture, retain, and expand the existing customer base to foster enduring partnerships.

-         Conduct regular in-person visits and/or contact with customers to gain feedback and company insights.

-         Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, product innovations, and competitor strategies. Provide customers with this information as part of a comprehensive, value-added service package.

-         Participate in company promotions and customer events.

-         Collaborate closely with our Procurement and Marketing Teams to create and implement custom solutions for customers. Share insights from both successful and less successful endeavors to drive continuous improvement and innovation.  

-         Effective utilization of our CRM is essential. This will include creating well-structured weekly plans, achieving weekly and monthly customer visit goals, maintaining up-to-date notes and accurate contact information.

-         Handle day-to-day calls, order entry, customer questions, etc.

 

Requirements:

-         High School Diploma/GED.

-         Ability to navigate our company technologies with ease (CRM, ERP, and routing programs).

-         Be responsive and have good communication skills

-         Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (including no single DUI in the last 3 years and no multiple DUIs within the last 7 years.

-         Current automobile insurance.

-         Pass pre-employment testing (background and drug screen).

-         Sign confidentiality agreement.


Preferred Requirements:

-         Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, hospitality, or culinary arts.

-         Proven experience in outside foodservice sales, including established connections within the restaurant and foodservice sector.

-         Chef or restaurant management experience, and/or related fields.

-         Previous produce industry experience.

 

Compensation:

-         Alongside commission, a competitive base salary and designated accounts will be provided initially.

-         Automotive expense plan.

-         Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance after 90 days.
