JOB TITLE: High School Math and/or Science Teacher/1.0 FTE
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB SUMMARY: To provide education services to students in a classroom setting. The teacher is responsible for student academic achievement, including instruction and maintaining student discipline. Full job description available upon request.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
- Hold or be eligible for Oregon Teaching Certification with High School Level authorization. Multiple endorsements preferred in Advanced Math, Physics, Chemistry, and/or Integrated Science.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff, and parents through an equitable and trauma informed lens.
- Willingness to work with extra-curricular activities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Master’s degree.
- Spanish language skills.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement adopted curriculum and develop supplemental instructional materials that are aligned to grade level standards and suitable for students with a wide range of mental, physical, and emotional maturities.
- Use data to inform instruction, evaluate academic growth, and monitor student progress on grade level standards.
- Maintain appropriate records.
- Actively engage in curriculum and/or faculty committees as interested or required.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to support student learning.
- Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students & their parents concerning academic and behavioral progress of student.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190-Day Contract at 1.0 FTE. Based on current SEA salary schedule and negotiated agreement, salary dependent on the negotiated agreement ($50,073-$101,649 annually) with excellent benefits including Medical, Dental and Vision insurance and Oregon state retirement. Paid time off includes one sick day per month worked and two personal days, pro-rated per school year. Benefit information can be found at https://www.seaside.k12.or.us/hr/benefits.
