JOB TITLE: High School Health & Physical Education Teacher (1.0 FTE)
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB SUMMARY:
To provide education services to students in a classroom setting. The teacher is responsible for student academic achievement, including instruction and maintaining student discipline.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
- Hold or be eligible for Oregon Teaching Certification with High School Level authorization and endorsements in Health and Physical Education.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Willingness to work with extra-curricular activities w/ emphasis on high school and/or middle school coaching.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Training and experience in equity and Trauma Informed Care.
- Spanish speaker.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide Health and Physical Education instruction aligned with the Common Core State Standards.
- Evaluate academic and social growth of students and maintain appropriate records.
- Use data to plan for instruction.
- Participate in curriculum and/or faculty committees as interested or required.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to support student learning.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190-Day Contract at 1.0 FTE. Based on current SEA salary schedule and negotiated agreement, salary dependent on the negotiated agreement ($50,073-$101,649 annually) with excellent benefits including Medical, Dental and Vision insurance and Oregon state retirement. Paid time off includes one sick day per month worked and three personal days, pro-rated per school year. Benefit information can be found at https://www.seasidek12.org/benefits. Open until filled.
