What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part time Home Care RN position at Seastar Senior Services?
SeaStar is seeking an RN to serve as back up for our current RN. Hours are minimal just 2 - 10 hours a month. Great opportunity for someone who does RN consulting and is looking for a few extra hours.
Hours are flexible based on RN's availability.
The SeaStar Registered Nurse is a required position under the Oregon Administrative Rules. The RN is responsible for ensuring compliance with the OAR and company policies, training of new hires, assessing new clients, and delegation of medication and nursing tasks.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Adheres to SeaStar's Mission Statement - advocates for and partners with our clients to preserve dignity, health, and quality of life.
- Participates in new hire orientation with caregiver competency and medication evaluations
- Provided additional training to caregivers as needed
- Delegates nursing tasks to caregivers that are consistent with client needs
- Performs client assessments at : start of care, every 90 days, change in condition, and when delegating nursing tasks
- Ensures signed doctor orders are updated quarterly and saved to Google Drive
- Creates and updates MARs based on doctor orders
- Reviews completed MARS for completeness and accuracy
- Creates binder packet with information on medication side effects, contraindications, and adverse reactions
- Participates in quarterly quality improvement meetings
- Documents all activity and time worked on Wellsky portal
- Works closely with IHC Supervisor in training and monitoring clients and caregivers
- Other duties as assigned
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS :
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE :
Registered Nurse in good standing. Experience with seniors and adults with disabilities, dementia, and mental illness preferred.
