Opportunity: Maintenance Technician - M-F, 6am-2pm
Seastrom Manufacturing is seeking an experienced and safety-minded Maintenance Technician with excellent mechanical aptitude and initiative. The Maintenance Technician will complete routine maintenance, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Also responsible for building and maintaining relationships in a team environment modeling professionalism, interpersonal skills, problem solving, adaptability, and personal value commitment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Performs work required for the repair, maintenance, installation, and modernization of electrical systems for buildings, equipment, and grounds.
- Performs work of a skilled variety demanding a high degree of manual and technical competency.
- Locates and determines electrical malfunctions using test equipment.
- Repairs malfunctions by such methods as replacing burned out elements, fuses, and replacing defective wiring, cleaning, and repairing motors.
- Tests electrical equipment, such as motors, heaters, and controls for safety and efficiency, using standard test equipment and by observing functions.
- Installs fixtures, wiring conduits, motors, and other electrical equipment.
- Inspects circuits for specified shielding and grounding.
- Proficiency with electrical, basic mechanical/hydraulic and pneumatics concepts related to machine tools.
- Hands on experience with PLC troubleshooting
- Able to understand and read schematics and blueprints.
- Experience working with AC/DC and 480V.
- Knowledge of security and fire alarm systems.
- Responsible for on-going preventive maintenance program.
- Manage levels of stress, deadlines, and occasional extended schedules.
- Work on and maintain boilers and air compressors.
- Knowledge and understanding of the proper oils to be used in all equipment such as weight, types, and amounts.
- Able to read and understand manuals for maintenance upkeep.
- Have a good working knowledge of plant procedures and material flow throughout the plant.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High School/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must meet "US Person" criteria per ITAR compliance regulations.
- Minimum of 10 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- State of Idaho Journeyman’s Electrician License preferred.
- Able to demonstrate appropriate mechanical and electrical related skills.
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language with comprehension skills sufficient to understand safety standards and job performance expectations.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to interpret instructions which may be furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or grab; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch and reach. The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to inside conditions, moving mechanical parts, oils and/or cutting fluids.
- The noise level in the environment is loud.
